An at-home self care program for people who care for their aging parent so that they can feel more rested, balanced and in control.
Here’s the thing… caring for a family member is not easy. There's no quick-fix either. You can’t rely completely on a nursing home and you also can’t give up your whole life to provide the care they need. What it’s really about is finding the way between those two extremes that’s right for your situation.
So how do you do this? Remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. So you pace yourself by doing regular self-care; giving yourself more stamina in the long run. Because you will have alot of situations to navigate and if you’re at your best, this whole thing will go smoother.

The program includes 10 hypnosis sessions that are about 35 minutes in length. Each one highlights an aspect of self-care. Hypnosis is a wonderful tool to help uncover where ou assumptions and old ways of thinking are getting in the way. Could it be that solutions are all around and we aren’t seeing them?
Yes. Our minds only see what they already know, and this caregiving situation presents new problems regularly. Your particular, individual situation is new and might need some new ways of thinking to successfully navigate its waters. So we will call on hypnosis to open our minds to new resources, solutions and ideas that can serve both us and our person.
We will be stimulating new, conscious choices for how to spend our time and energy rather than simply being pulled in multiple directions all day every day and ending up exhausted.
I work with people who are caregivers for their aging parents and want to stay present, balanced and healthy during this stressful time of life. As a caregiver to my own aging family members for 16 years and a certified hypnotherapist, I wanted to combine my training and experience to create something to help other caregivers get through this stressful time.
I’ve created this program so that I can share with you what I wish I had known when I was a caregiver to my mom, dad and two other family members.

Then consider using this program to put more self-care into your life. Looking back on all of my caregiving experiences, I know how hard it is to do that but I also know that we all have limits. Doing self-care helps you push past those limits because you're healthier, more balanced, and have access to the calmest, wisest parts of yourself.
I get it. I was an exhausted caregiver myself. But its only now that my parent has passed away and I’m not a caregiver anymore can I see that I abandoned myself most of the time, put my own plans on hold, and felt anxious as well as deep, bone-tired exhaustion because there was just so much to do. Stopping to take care of myself seemed like a waste of time. But actually, just the opposite is true. Caregiving for a parent is HARD, its a time that we need to put regular self-care in place to act as a life-preserver in deep water so that we can keep going for those who depend on us.
Now my mission is to help you implement self-care regularly so you can stay connected to yourself, your life and the people in it, and feel balanced and peaceful most of the time.
Because hypnosis is so relaxing, do not drive while listening to the sessions. Also, hypnosis may not be appropriate for people with serious mental disorders, hallucinations and/or delusions. Caregivers are known for having their own health problems as a result of the demands of caregiving. So even though we are not going to completely eliminate stress, let’s do the very best we can to preserve our own health by wisely managing stress.

Navigating the caregiving journey can be challenging, especially when it comes to setting boundaries and practicing self-compassion.
Just like fences protect our homes and land, boundaries safeguard our emotional well-being. They help us define what is acceptable and what is not, creating a secure space where we can thrive. Unfortunately, many of us, especially caregivers, often struggle with people-pleasing tendencies. This can lead to losing touch with our own needs and desires as we prioritize others.
Also, we often face the added difficulty of enforcing boundaries while still being present for those who need us. It's not always possible to walk away, making it necessary to find creative solutions to maintain our boundaries.
If your boundaries are always being violated or you don't even know where your boundaries are, its time to turn to self-compassion. It's common to have an inner voice that becomes mean or discouraging when things go wrong. That only makes us feel worse and takes us further from knowing and communicating our boundaries. During this session, you will feel the difference in your body between self-compassion and criticism. Being kind to ourselves and giving ourselves the benefit of the doubt can transform our inner dialogue from one of criticism to one of support and understanding.
